CA sent a letter requesting assistance

I've started my dispute process on 11/1/2010

I received a letter from CA this week, stating the following:

"The purpose of this letter is to request your assistance so that we may reach a quick resolution to your dispute"

"As part of our investigation of your dispute, it would be helpful to have a copy of any documentation you may have that supports your dispute. In the interim, we have requested that the three major consumer credit reporting agencies change the status of this account to Disputed"

What should I do?

Do I just wait for the outcome after thirty days?

I've heard if you send a printed letter the CA can decline validation and say the letter is frivolous.

In the first place, it's up to the CA to disprove your claim...I suggest that you DO NOTHING TO ASSIST ANY CA IN MATTERS SUCH AS THIS...MAKE THEM DISPROVE YOUR CLAIM.

This letter loosely translates to...

"we have no real documentation to support our claim against you. Please provide us with some."

This is a common trap to attempt to bait you into acknowledging the debt, the amount, payment history, etc. Once you recognize the debt, you lose certain rights due to you.

I would not recommend communication with the CA. The burden of proof relies on them. The law does not require capitualtion to their claim.
