Trixie
I contacted the credit card company in regards to late fee charges on a statement I received. The card company waived the late fees & the charges were credited back to my credit card account. I then later discover this account on my credit report as "30 days late". I have contacted the card company and the credit bureaus (listed on all three) & I cannot get this removed. Any suggestions ??
willingtocope
Did you get the agreement to waive the late fees in writing? If not, it didn't happen.
Trixie
On my statement the following month it is printed under Transaction Summary "Late Fee Credit Adjustment", a reference number & $30.00 under Credits.
willingtocope
If the payment was late, and all that happened is they refunded the late fee out of good will...then they are accurately reporting to the CRAs and its therefore NOT an FCRA violation. You might try a "goodwill" letter asking them to remove the lates. If the payment was not late, then it is a violation for them to report it as late. Write them a letter pointing that out an implying you may have to look at your legal options if they don't correct it.
