Don't look a gift horse and blah blah blah.....

Ok I have an old HSBC account on my CR (due to be removed in Jan 2013). It was never sent to collections - just reads "Transferred/Closed". I used the card once or twice, it had a $300 limit and they're saying the amount was $569.

What would you use as a reason to dispute? Maybe just "not mine", then dispute the amount if it doesn't disappear?

I've heard some bad things about HSBC so I'll be avoiding them in the future at all costs 8]

Is there any reason you need to dispute it? Can you live with the mark on your CR for another 2 years? Unless your buying something and need your CR cleaned up, I wouldn't rock the boat...

Well that's a relief haha. Most of our negs are under $600. I think 4 are over $1K and they're from places that are harder to deal with than the little ones. I'm pretty sure it's out of the SOL. It's a card I got in April 2005 and I think NV SOL for that is 4 years.

Thanks for the advice!
