GertschMom1121
Don't look a gift horse and blah blah blah.....Ok I have an old HSBC account on my CR (due to be removed in Jan 2013). It was never sent to collections - just reads "Transferred/Closed". I used the card once or twice, it had a $300 limit and they're saying the amount was $569.What would you use as a reason to dispute? Maybe just "not mine", then dispute the amount if it doesn't disappear?I've heard some bad things about HSBC so I'll be avoiding them in the future at all costs

Can you live with the mark on your CR for another 2 years? Unless your buying something and need your CR cleaned up, I wouldn't rock the boat... GertschMom1121
We're trying to buy a house in the next year or so. We pulled our reports in January and found a few "gems" that we need to clear up. I started researching adn found this place.
diamonddan73
First thing to do is find out if it is inside or outside the SOL. If it's out, rock the boat till it sinks. If it's in, leave it alone. FHA only cares about neg's above 1K. This account is probably making little to no impact to your credit scores. GertschMom1121
Well that's a relief haha. Most of our negs are under $600. I think 4 are over $1K and they're from places that are harder to deal with than the little ones. I'm pretty sure it's out of the SOL. It's a card I got in April 2005 and I think NV SOL for that is 4 years. Thanks for the advice!
