freedom_99
I used to live with my ex in NJ and now I reside in California. According to my ex, I have tons of mails from a Pressler and Pressler and that now I have subpoena and could be arrested over a debt that I owe Chase 2 years ago. I am supposed to answer questions about my SSN, driver's license, bank accounts, assets etc. Please somebody tell me what to do. I am penniless. I cannot move back to NJ just to fight this in court. What will happen if I don't show up in court? I don't even have the mails or the subpoena, my ex told them I don't live with him anymore. What's going to happen to me? What should I do? Guest usctrojanalum
OK, write a letter CMRR to pressler and pressler and a letter CMRR to the Court you were sued in explaining to them that you have lived in California for however long you have lived there for. Provide a copy of your license and a utility bill or bank statement showing your California address. Hopefully that would stop any motion to hold you in contempt of Court for failing to respond to a subpoena and no warrants are issued for your arrest. Guest usctrojanalum
If you tell them you live in California, you will be alright. But send P&P and the Court letters explaining that, and like I said earlier provide a copy of your license and a utility bill.
