Knee_Deep
Today I was checking the mail when I saw one of those white evelopes that you know is prob a collection. When I pulled it out of the box and looked at the front, it looked like a court summons inside with the color and so on. Anyway, I opened it and found it was just a collection letter for an old $90.00 debt from a CA.Does anyone here think this might be a violation of sort? Guest usctrojanalum
You thought it might have been a summons because of the color of the paper? I'm not sure that would really fly.
Amerikaner83
doubtful...The format for a Summons or Court case is pretty standardized iirc, and it's not the color of the paper alone that makes it such. How else did it look like a summons? Did it say you are ordered to appear at XXX Court House on XXX date?
workingpoor
If it does fly, let me know. Every collection letter I got was on the same color paper as every summons I ever got. Did it say anything like:Shady Collections VS.Joe debtorThat would be a little more misleading.
Knee_Deep
No, no. Just insided the window of the envelope, they made it look like it was a summons inside. They had on their file number and such, using a very light weight paper. It was very creative how they did it, but after opening I found a very cheesy light bluish crapally type letter with JOE BLOW COLLECTION AGENCY on the top.
