BigJT
Over the past two months, a handful of random collection agencies have pulled my credit report, and their inquiries are showing up on my Experian file.I haven't had any other contact from these collection agencies, none of them are reporting tradelines on my credit reports, and I have no idea what is going on. So two questions: first, is a common occurence? Second, what is my best bet for getting the inquiries removed?
BigJT
Anyone have any insight on this?
willingtocope
It is common. If they're CAs (and not JDBs looking to see if your accounts are worth buying) they have permissable purpose. There is no easy way to get them removed.
Hal Jordan
Nearly impossible to get them removed..
RandomUser
You can't get them removed. CRAs will just keep them on there for the full 2 years. Try freezing your credit though. That may help prevent anyone else from pulling the credit in the future.
IndiraMehta
i saw this about a year ago.the inquiries were from EVERYWHERE. All over America.I called up the places doing the inquiry and they were job-screening places. It turns out, a few people had my SSN, but not my name, and were applying for work. A freeze put a stop to it.
