global251
I am getting advertisements in the mail from bankruptcy lawyers, etc. saying they have found through public records I am being sued or have been sued. However, I have not received anything by mail or been served any papers. I was sued about 3 months ago and have answered that, but I keep getting these adverts. My understandin is in order to be legal you have to be serverd. I have had the same address for over 15 years.Any feedback? Thanks
nascar
Unfortunately, shameless attorney solication has become the norm. You were sued 3 months ago and answered ... I suspect then, that you were served. Am I missing something?

Linda7
Could there be anything else you're being sued for?You could call the clerk of the court and ask as they'll have the records. It's better to know "now" instead of waiting and maybe there be a default judgment against you for not answering.
