elbeto77
Should the dispute letter be sent certified? Also if you have been sue by collection agency and are going to court would it be a good idea to dispute the items in question before hand? BV80
Is it better to dispute via mail or online? It could depend on the dispute. If you're disputing more than one inaccuracy in an entry, you might want to send the dispute in writing. However, if it's merely a general dispute because you want it noted that the entry is disputed, online would work. The CRAs will send you a notification via email that your dispute was received. Save it.
jjacobs
In my opinion, it would be fine to dispute online. Sometimes snail mailings will not reach the authority or the receiver for some reasons or may be delayed at times. Doing it online would be more advantage. However, you have to see to it that you are sending to the right address, or else you will be waiting for nothing. And, perhaps, seeking help from a third party or an attorney would be essential as well. But, be careful.
1stStep
You want to send disputes CMRRR in order to establish a paper trail and delivery -very important when suing for an FCRA violation. Online disputes do not give you that paper trail you need.
