poppet24
Hello - I am not sure what to do what about a judgement that is showing up on 2 of my credit reports. Its dated 05/07 in the amount of $621.00. I got summoned, I went to court and we ended up seeing a mediator and coming to an agreement. I paid it and never thought about it since. When I disputed it, it came back as verified which I figured it would. I no longer live in the state so I am not sure what I need to do from here. Any advise would be appreciated. inthesticks
Is there anything incorrect about the listing? Is it showing as paid?

poppet24
It is not showing as paid. It has the information on the case but the satisfied date and status is blank.
inthesticks
Has a satisfaction of judgment ever been filed? If you paid the creditor directly and they never filed this it might still be showing as unpaid.
poppet24
I doubt it was ever done. So at this point I need to contact them and have them file it? Wish I would have looked at all this back then and had it taken care of. Thanks Now off to search into that.
1stStep
I'll bet you signed a stipulated judgement...and if and when you missed a payment, they filed it w/ the court.

1stStep
In that case, check for a Satisfaction of Judgment being filed...As far as it being on a CR, it's a public record - in theory, it'll stay on for 7 years. Dispute it and see if it falls off.
GrumpyGus
This happened to me in Wisconsin. I paid the debt without issue. However, it was never explained to me that I needed to file form GF-129 (satisfaction or partial release) with the court. This costs an additional five dollars. The status then changed in about three weeks. Once the judgement is paid the creditor (or his agent) sends you this release form, which you then file.If you are like me I had since moved and the form never made it to me, so I didn't know I had to file it. Since I then lived out of state the logistics was kind of a hassle but everything went smoothly once I got on the right path.

poppet24
So - After calling the court and sending a letter to the Dr that won the judgment against me, he sent me a copy of the Order of Dismissal. So with this, can I get it taken off my CR instead of waiting for it to fall off?
Denita
In which state was your judgement recorded? Was the Order of Dismissal recorded?Check the procedures in that state to see if the Order of Dismissal will work to vacate the judgement.
