jeffbaltimore
Hi Folks,I disputed two bank of america listings on my Transunion Credit Report. I claimed bankruptcy and the two BOA accounts were discharged. Transunion reported the accounts as verified. I contacted BOA and they told me that the accounts were charged off and sent to two collection agencies (I have both CA names and numbers). And I included these two collection agencies in my bankruptcy proceedings. The CA's are not listed on my credit report. So, my question is: Is the information that BOA is reporting accurate? Which company should be listed on my credit report? The two BOA accounts were charged off but ultimately discharged in Bankruptcy. Need help. My brain is turning into CA soup. willingtocope
If the BOA tradeline says "included in bankruptcy", that's accurate.Remember...charge off does not mean sold. CAs don't buy debts.
jeffbaltimore
The BOA line does not say Included in Bankruptcy. So should I contact BOA or the collection agencies. I have already initiated a reinvestigation through transunion. Where do I go from here? Who is responsible for reporting accurate information? thomassl
I am not sure how long ago you filed bankruptcy, but did you talk to your attorney about this? I know someone that this happened to and her bankruptcy attorney fixed it but she found the error very early after his dismissal. She pulled her reports to see how the accounts were reported. willingtocope
If the BOA account was sold BEFORE you filled BK, then their reporting CO, account closed, is accurate. If it was NOT sold before hand, then it should be marked IIB, and your attorney should write then a "correct it, or we'll sue" letter. If it was sold, and the JDBs are not reporting, leave them alone.
jq26
...With a $0 balance. If the tradeline is showing a balance owed, then they've got problems and need to immediately fix it.
