cajun_duck
I have a couple of student loans that used to be delinquent. I have been paying them as agreed for 3 years now on time. Is there a way that the creditor can remove the old negative status?
rambler
Send them a goodwill letter and ask them to remove the negative information since you have kept them current for a while now and you enjoyed their service so much....If being nice doesn't work, dispute the late payments and make them show the proof they were indeed late. If that doesn't work...well I don't know of anything else. If you start disputing and making waves, make sure you are never even a day late again...they may remember your kindness. cajun_duck
It's in the 81 month reporting. Does that make a difference?
rambler
Not really. If there is a late payment of any sort being reported, it will have some impact on your score. The longer ago it was, the less it will impact. If it is current and your nice, they may remove the negative late payments from the reporting. They do not have to, but sometimes will. cajun_duck
I sent them a goodwill letter asking them to remove it. I sent it via certified mail and so on. They never responded. What should I do about this now?
