KCG116
I ask because I have called a few banks the past couple of years asking for copies of all of my statements from closed accounts.I need them for various reasons besides debt collection. One bank who I will not name yet told me because the accounts were sold off I have to get all such info from the new account owner. I called place that purchased the debt and they tell me to call the bank for the copies. Now what?

KCG116
In the past, such requests were ignored.
RockDaddy
And in the shredder it will go... In the past, such requests were ignored. You want them so you can shred them? Uhm... I have read that it's unlikely for OC's to keep records longer than 18 months, so if they are closed accounts you could be SOL. (and no, I'm not talking about Statue of Limitations here)
KCG116
No I am saying my letters must have gone into the shredders of some of the places they were sent because I received no responses to them...
RockDaddy
Hold on.Are you talking about *banks* as in credit card accounts?Or are you talking about actual bank accounts?I made my statement above based on thinking you were talking about credit cards, based on you saying that you were told they were *sold off*.If I'm mistaken, my apologies.
