jmf8756
It would depend on what state you are in. I believe every state has a different SOL.

crash5050
Written contractexplain. I call the cable company to turn on my cable, they flip a switch at the DCO and poof I have cable. How is that a written contract?
Hopeful1
I'm hoping to get the answer to this too. Something makes me think that even when the utility is turned on with a phone call, there is some kind of agreement sent to your address...I know services like Directv sometimes require a two year contract. RockDaddy
According to Georgia O.C.G.A. § 9-3-24 the statute of limitations for debt related to a written contract is six years, and an oral contract is four years from the date of breech. I'm gonna guess that the mod who said, "written contract" means that it's an *implied* written contract, much like when you apply for a credit card over the phone and they don't actually have your signature. Once you use it, (or cable tv services in your case), you accept their terms, just as if you signed it.I would tend to agree, that it's a written contract. Though, the GA SOL for oral or non-written contracts is 4 years, so it could possibly be argued.
