I have been doing a decent job of getting my credit cleaned up and have had decent success with Goodwill letters to most Collection agencies and Original creditors. On my Equifax report I have one collection agency VALENTINE & KEBARTAS, INC. I would like advice on how deal with them. It is an old collection account and has been on my Credit report since 07/2006. DOFD is 10/2005. This is the only collection that I don't believe I have paid and that is because 1. I only just really started taking my credit serious and 2. I never knew about this debt in fact I don't ever remember receiving any communication from them. I sent a DV letter by CMRRR back in Jan and have received no response at all.I would just love to get them off my Credit report. Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.Note! Check the GA statute of limitations for debts by particular debt class. Chances are it's already time barred.BTW, since it's been so long, it's likely not hurting your credit score too much.
