Well I have been working with a credit repair company for about 6 months. Things have dropped off of my credit but seem to come back? Anyway, I have accepted that. I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I have recently sent 7 PTD letters and 40, YES 40, letters to have inquiries removed from my credit. I bought a car this past year and it amazed me how many times they pull your credit! My question is this, I have several charge offs. ALL of them have been sold to a CA, once they are paid, is it feasible to think that I can send a goodwill letter to the OC? Does this ever work? I am working now with the CA to get these all removed through PTD. It is so hard to get a straight answer from anywhere! My credit repair company doesn't want me having any contact with my creditors, as they don't want to lose my $100 a month account. I just want this all fixed.

Martha,

You don't need them, you can write letters more effectivley than they can, you can also call these CA's and talk with them. I had about 50 Items removed across all 3 reports in 3 months.

Just start with the 1st one on the list, call them and say, look, I am not admitting that I owe this, but in the interest of clearing things up, I would be willing to pay the balance in return for you removing the entry from my credit report. Suprisingly enough, most of them are money grubbing bastards and will do anything to get you to pay. If you don't pay they don't get paid.

If that one won't work with you go to the next one, and so forth. When you get done with all of them, start back on the 1st one again. I wore them down, went into their offices, and actually sued one or two of them, but as of this morning I was 716 across the board.

As far as the inquiries go, if they are made on the same day, such as the car company, your FICO score counts them as one inquiry, the assume you were shopping for the best rate.

Thank you for your help! To see how much your credit score has went up is encouraging! I am really working to repair this! So do I have any chance of getting the original charge off removed from the OC?
