Trial Date (Timeline) after Answer is filed w/court

Recommended Posts

Not that I am in any great hurry...mind you...

Please, toss me some ideas on how long after you've filed an answer with the court...that one might get a notice of a court date?

They said, in effect, that they would 'get in touch'...

With no home phone, I am assuming a letter?

Or would that be served?

It has been 2 1/2 weeks.

Thank you in advance.

In my cases, the first one took 8mths before I received a letter in the mail from the courts on when my trial date was. The second trial it was 6mths after my answer. I think it may depend on the courthouse. You can always call the clerks office & ask.

Both my cases were over a yr long from the time I was summons to trial. The last case was closer to a yr & half long.

BTW I laughed so hard when i saw your user name!!! LOL:ROFLMAO2:

Just follow your case on line if they have that in your state. The next move is up to the plaintiff, not you. If they do not take the next step in time, file a motion for dismissal based upon lack of diligence. Keep pounding them every way you can, within the rules, of course.
