rntalks
Anyone deal with them? They had one loan, don't even know where they came from. They claim loan from 1991...was I even in school? Anyway, went through BK, after discharge they transferred this alleged debt to NCO collections....NCO is saying I owe them almost $1000 more and they are saying it for an insititution that I never even attended. PLUS, ECMC did a garnishment x1 on my paycheck while I was in the BK.......any comments?
StudLoanGuru
If you never attended the institution they are saying you did, then just dispute it with them. They will order promissory notes along with a payment history to be sent to you. If it is not your signature, but is your name and SSN, then you can file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies and file a fraid claim. If it is yours then you are stuck. The extra amount they are claiming is a collection fee. Anytime a loan defaults there is a collection fee added to the balance. It is unavoidable unless you can settle the account.
