LongLost
Its an 702 number, I goggled and came up with an outfit called Portfolio Recovery. Sometimes I get 3 or 4 a day from this. All on my cell, never leave a message. What can I do about this? I called em back once and I got a pick up and click. Is this not a violation of law, can't I get them fined? BTO429
You have to at least find out why they are calling. Do you have any idea what debt they claim you owe them....portfolio is notorious for violating the law.Write them a letter and explain to them that they do not have your express consent for them to call your number, and also state that "if you do believe that you have express consent, at this time my express consent is revoked and I order you not to call my number. This will either make them stop(I doubt it will) or they will keep calling and you have a TCPA claim for 1500 dollars per call.Or you could send a c&d letter and hope they do not sue. LongLost
They are saying its some Cap One debt, 4k ish. At some point I was planning to send them a DV letter and try to get them off my CR. Would it be a better gotcha to send a dont call me letter and see if they still call then try to get them that way? If I send a do not call me letter and they still call how do I start in getting them to pay the fines?
TomnTex
Make sure you send it and all mail to a JDB CMRRR. You fail to do that you lose ground as you have no proof you mailed it.
