BrunoTheJDBkiller
Most likely they are trying to keep the SOL alive. They might have made the payment themselves. Did they notify you at any time that they purchased your account? When they sue you, you'll be able to find out what this is by conducting discovery. Asking now is a waste of time. If you know when they bought your account, go through your bank records from that time forward and look for a check you wrote for 76.00. The date of sale should be on your credit report. BV80
Bruno referred to the date of the sale of the account on your credit report. That date would correspond with the date the OC stopped updating their entry on your CR.
Recovering Attorney
Make sure, then you make a discovert demand for a copy of the payment clip and check that supposed was the payment. And get all your checks from the relevant time so you can show you did not pay them. It is a trick a lot of JDBs and evem sad to say, "banks too big to fail" use.
