You have to concentrate on making them prove they actually own the account. This is difficult for them to do. The card was in your name, you're stuck with it. You could also try arbitration, see Linda7. Often they will dismiss rather than pay for ARB at 500 per hour. I am thinking to write them a letter asking for bank statements or proofs that I actually owe this much money because I really have no clue about this account. Is this a good first step before going into any legal action?If I ask for Arbitration and they are willing to do it somehow, do I need to pay the ARB eventually? or its all on CACH?
