vastva Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) I checked my answering machine yesterday to see that a person will be coming to my home to deliver documents to my mother that need to be signed. They require someone over the age of 18 (I am). It's a company called 'legal support services' that are working for LVNV Funding in Florida. The number said Private name, Private number. They wanted me to call back at 888-959-9627, saying they would try to deliver the documents 3 times before moving forward. Is this a scam or legit delivery of documents? Most of the people on here said they received a letter in the mail which we haven't.Should I accept these documents from LVNV Funding and sign them? I am unsure where to go from this point. I'm afraid to sign anything that may be used against us later on.My mother works long hours everyday so she can not be at home during the time they said they would arrive. We're not totally sure where to go from this point. Edited November 1, 2012 by vastva
nascar Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 You're under no obligation to call them back.
vastva Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) If they show up at my door, do I sign and accept the papers? Is this normal protocol? Im really worried. Edited November 1, 2012 by vastva

We're not totally sure where to go from this point.Have they already sued her? Are they trying to serve a summons? Has she entered into some kind of agreement with them for some purpose like a settlement? I'm being sued here in Cali by LVNV but they never tried to personally deliver anything to me including the original summons which some slack-jaw mouth breathing Neanderthal illegally left on my door-step.Carol-LynnCarol-Lynn
Flyerfan Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 That phone number has a lot of complaints. I would not consider it legitimate. You can and usually do get personally served but I'm not aware of anyone calling first.
vastva Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) She has never been sued by them before, but I'm not sure if they are now. We've had no contact with them outside of that phone call (the answering machine). They said nothing about summons in the call. Edited November 1, 2012 by vastva
Flyerfan Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 I would expect no one to show up at your door. This is just a way to get you to call the number. Scare tactics. Very unethical.
vastva Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 Thank you, I hope so. I'll reply back here in the future if they ever do.
