Been_Ponzied
I filled out the little pop up windows here to get a call from Lexington Law. Come to find out, they only help people settle and I can't settle with anyone. Now they won't stop calling me and bothering me. I'm disabled and can't afford Caller ID. I hate the phone ringing all the time. How do I make them stop?
Amerikaner83
tell them you want to speak to the supervisor, then explain to the super that you want off their list
kutuzov
Tell them to add your number in thier internal do not call list.
antiquedave
I thought caller ID was pretty much a standard freebie these days
kutuzov
No is not. If you got a landline you need to pay more to have caller id. with AT&T in Florida IS $8 more, I used to not have one for years, until survey calls, telemarketers, collectors, scamers, etc. started calling me 5-10 times daily. I placed my number on the DO NOT CALL LIST, tell every single caller to put my number in thier internal do not call list, placed my number on Florida DO NOT CALL LIST, tell scamers on thier face I ain't giving you money scamer, and systematically report every single call to the DO NOT CALL LIST, and send refusals to pay to all collectors. Is paying off, except for the election "brake", I do not recieve many calls maybe 1 or 2 every 15 days, during elections I was getting way to many to track them, so I quit until nov 6. Next elections I'll count calls of each party and vote however calls me less.
Denita
^^^ That's the truth about the political calls. I get almost zero calls on my landline anymore and during the past month running up to the election I got calls every hour - sometimes 15 minutes apart. It was insane, talk about harassment! Been_Ponzied
I thought caller ID was pretty much a standard freebie these daysNo, its $10.95 extra per month for me. But maybe that's because I'm on the Lifeline cheapo low income service with AT&T.
Goldbug
How to stop Lexington Law from calling me?You think you've got it bad? Seems that I'm on the "questionable charities sucker list"! The only relief I've found is taking the phone off the hook. Do not call list hasn't helped. 'Tis the season for all the scammers to come out from under their rocks.
kutuzov
The Do Not Call list will only stop legitime telemarketers, like Discover trying to sell you a credit card, it will not stop scammers. Anyways record the call and the do a complaint on the do not call list web page, is free takes 1 minute and they might do something to get the scammers, so far it has worked for me, scammer calls have droped a lot. Torden
I'm seriously considering just not having a phone at all. There are tablets now with 2G/3G/4G/LTE capability, and some telcos have no-voice accounts (data and SMS only). I might go that route, and them just put the SIM card in a regular phone, anyway (I always get them unlocked). Hey debt collectors and JDBs ... in writing only!!! ... and no SMS or email.
