Ocmike1
I am trying to get financed and was denied because I have an open judgement on my credit. This didn't come up when I financed my truck a year ago. The amount is 451.00. This shows from Capitol one, but when I contacted them they had no record of me whatsoever and gave me the number to Winn law group. I can't get ahold of anyone there. I have read a ton of horrible stuff about them online and don't look forward to dealing with them, if I could actually talk to someone. Is there anything I can do? Thank you in advance

1stStep
Also, find out what court this was filed in and pull the case file.
admin
Any way to just pay the judgment? It won't remove it from your credit report, but a paid judgment is better than unpaid. It's difficult to remove court records (including bankruptcies) from your credit report, but it is possible.
Guest usctrojanalum
only way to really remove it is to have the underlying judgment vacated.

Coachway
Would paying the judgement re-set the 7 years it's to stay on your CR? I have a judgement from early 2010. So it would fall off in early 2017. But if I make a payment or settle it with the law firm, would it stay on my report (albeit paid/settled) until late 2019? 1stStep
No, it will only stay on for 7 years. Paying it will not extend the reporting period.
