MuteDebt
I went to look at my Credit Reports and noticed that their are 2 debts with the same bank but both debts are also reported by the Collection Agencies as well. I did notice that the CA's are for a dollar more!I think I read this is illegal to double report a debt? Is that true?
BV80
Unfortunately, a CA can report the same account. It's because an account sent to collections is part of our credit history which is the purpose of our credit reports. The fact that the CAs are reporting a dollar more is not a biggie. Are the CAs actually CAs, or are they JDBs? You can tell 2 ways: 1. Check reporting dates. Is the OC still currently updating (date last reported)? If so, the OC still owns the debt. 2. If the OC is not updating anymore, does the entry state sold or transferred? If so, your CAs might be JDBs who purchased the accounts.
