ghostdog1486
I just got a Dismissal without Prejudice letter from Asset Acceptance on my case in Missouri. [i inudated them with discovery and they folded.] Was wondering the same thing, Can I get them to remove the debt from my credit report? if so, how? admin
I just started a new topic for you. To remove the listing, you can always dispute with the credit bureaus. Since you didn't get the suit dismissed with predijuce, they can still come back and file suit again.
ladyhunter
If they have FDCPA, FCRA, and/or state violations, you can sue them. If you have solid violations against them, they will want to settle. You can "suggest" they remove their tradeline in the settlement. They will be most happy to do so, I believe, from experience. They typically dismiss without prejudice, meaning they CAN come back and sue you again, but they know they have to get all their ducks in a row first, which takes time and money and, many times, can't be done in any circumstance. BV80
In addition to Admin's and Ladyhunter's posts, this depends upon the details. A dismissal without prejudice is not a ruling from the court that Asset absolutely had no case against you. If, as Ladyhunter suggested, you have violations against Asset, that could be your leverage in forcing them to remove their entry.
Flyerfan
All that being said, congrats on your dismissal. Well done.
