witchywitch
I have an entry in my CR for less than $500 under collections. The entry is from a CA.Does that mean that they bought my account from the OC?Or it is really like that for unpaid medical bills? Thanks
admin
It's most likely that they were assigned to collect this bill. Medical collection companies are a bit different than those used to collect for credit card bills. They usually have better records, for instance. bikeluver43
Admin is correct - I have the same on my own CR. If you contact the hospital they will usually still accept a payment (usually in full) but otherwise will direct you to the debt collector. In that regard, the debt collector is still able to be sued under the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA if they are violating while attempting to collect. For example - I request no calls from mine, they then started robo calling my wifes phone (don't know where they got it from), so I sent a C&D/VOD letter - they have still continued calling.I'm racking up violations until its worth more than the alleged debts combined. I will then sue them and get their negative marks off my CR.
