indebt2013
I live in the state of Ohio I'm being sued for a credit card debt. I have no income, no unemployment. I have brokerage account that would help me to make some money, but it will under the poverty level in the US.Since I have dual citizenship, I want to move to my native country.I will need to open another brokerage account as non-us resident and transfer the one currently have. If the credit card debtor win a judgment against me can they come after my brokerage account overseas and freeze it?Thanks.
gwheelock915
you need a lot more information for us to help you. Who is the plaintiff for starters
BrunoTheJDBkiller
It depends on the country you move to. We have treaties with most countries whereby judgements can be domesticated. However, it can be quite a lengthy, expensive process for them, and unless the amount justifies it, they may not bother.
elite1331
What did they attach to their complaint against you? Duplicate statements from the OC or something else? This will determine if you file a Motion for More Definite Statement.
