halohonk
My oldest tradeline, by far, is AMEX and they are suing me. My credit report shows it as a charge off. I am not liking the idea of going to court and arguing technicalities and want to settle. I've heard that if your oldest account goes off your report it's REALLY bad news for your FICO. Obviously a settlement isn't pretty either but I just want to make sure that I'm doing the best thing for my score by asking for a deletion in my settlement vs. just taking the settled notation. willingtocope
Make that "oldest positive TL". Old negatives hurt...they just hurt a little less as they get older. Having an old negative disappear will help your "sucker score" a bit.

CordusAdmin
And those old and moldies will eventually fall off your credit report after 7 years. It is the newer ones that bring your score down more.
