Collection Agency reporting in my Credit report. States it is in dispute

Hello,

I'm not clear on Credit reportings.

After requesting vaildation from Collection agency and only receiving a verification form letter over a year later, we recently noticed in our Credit reports they are reporting it as in dispute.

Their validation called Verication was only account number name and amount. This is not vaildation in my eyes.

The reporting states a collection turned over by one of the Creditors. this is not accurate as the debt was sold to them.

Is there any example letters I can use to write to the three credit reporting agencys to dispute this?

Do collections agencies need to send you a letter stating they are going to report this on your CR?

Thanks to everyone in advance,

Scooter..
