admin
You have a breech of contract. What exactly did the letter say?
TomnTex
This just goes to show why I don't like settling. It rarely ever works out the way you want it to.
admin
It really depends on what their letter says.
Amerikaner83
Admin is right (as usual)...what did the letter actually say? And was there any sort of NDA involved? Dispute the entry with the CRAs too, see if they drop.
TomnTex
It really depends on what their letter says. TRUE! But, over all, in nearly 70 years I've seen more go bad than good, including for me in the past............
admin
It could be that the agreement in past letters is faulty.
sanchezrc2
here is what the letter says. the following serves to inform you that a deletion of the Account Services trade line has been submitted to the three credit-reporting agencies. please note this tends to be a fairly lengthy process. you will need to allow 30 days for full update with all three reporting agencies. shoul additional information be required, please contact our office. letter is dated 03-28-13 equifax updated as balance 0 paidtransunion still shows full balance and in collections as well as experian. what are my options with this matter
admin
That's the whole letter? I am thinking you could send a copy of it to the credit bureaus and see what happens. You could also try following up with the collection agency before you talk to the CRAs.

Wouldn't this necessarily be a better thing? I am not famailiar enough with the pay for delete strategy ( I am more accustomed to the forced payment of a debt I never owed long story...)But having paid accounts would tend to raise the score.
