No mail/Nothing on CR from "Gregory S. Foster"...What now?

Hi all,

So I am not sure how to proceed with this one. I've been reading all kinds of things that have left me confused (as usual...lol)

So this "Gregory S. Foster" "law firm" has been calling my parents home for quite some time now, not quite a year. I have never once recieved any kind of mail from them, and I have yet to see any information reported by them on my credit report, which leads me to believe that they are trying to collect on some zombie debt. I've been reading a lot of reports for 800-notes and such websites that have also lead me to the conclusion that there is something fishy going on here.

I would love to get them to just stop (without having to speak to them...) and I have no idea what "debt" of mine they are trying to collect on as I have zero information from them.

Should I send them a cease and decist letter? Should I send them a DV? Should I just ignore them?

No really sure how to proceed with this one

=\

I probably have stuff that is SOL or very close. I've been working on getting things taken care of, and this is a mystery to me. I'm doing damage control from the last 6-10 years and I don't like not knowing what they want. If it is something that I can legally make them stop calling about then I would like that to happen. I do have one thing that I incurred here in the last few years, but it is being taken care of.

There are quite a few other things that I have since paid off, so I really do not have any idea what this is about. I haven't seen one thing from them on my credit report (which I check every single month)

The only way to find out what they want is to talk to them.   If they believe they're calling the address at which you live, but have never sent you a collection letter that contains a notice of your validation rights, then they've violated the FDCPA.

If you choose to talk to them, I would do so only long enough to find out about the debt so that you would know if it's outside the SOL or not.  Once you know about the debt, you can decide whether to DV or send a cease and desist letter.
