This guy doesn't like CIC (not me though)

Recommended Posts

Wouldn't you know, an OP here shared his experience with CIC to a guy who runs a debt consolidation/settlement company. I have been going at it with him regarding his views about settling and paying Midland, because after all the debt is legit, or no one wants to play the debt validation boogie he says.

He doesn't post my work anymore, since its moderated, but my issue is that he is steering people away from using litigation or arb as an effective method to fight off a collection suit. Obviously he runs a business so he wants to steer people into his program or methods, but I think its disingenuine to pan defending collection suits. With a little bit of time and effort, and perhaps the cost of an appearance fee, people can walk away from a 2K, 10K or 15K suit owing nothing.

I know there are other people who say the same thing here, but a credit score is just that-a number. I would rather have a low credit score then be paying hundreds each month to the bottom feeders. Fighting may not be for everyone, but for me it was the only option.

I've fought each and every suit that was filed against me or my wife and we won each one. We have also countered with FDCPA or TCPA (5 cases in the last year). I agreed to settle with 1 OC because the offer to settle, 10% was way too good to pass up. The terms were even better. Pay what you want, when you want, no interest accrues. So out of 47K in credit cards, I ended up agreeing to pay back $750. Not bad.

Read the thread.

Interesting.  If you google Mickael  Bovee, you find, on the first page, an "images" line that includes none other than Jared Straus, the debt fixer going round and round in another thread.  Looks to me link they're singing out of the same song book..."Oh, send us some meny, and we'll make your debts go away".

Never actually hired one of those debt settlement companies, but the strategy is easy, you give us money and we try to settle your debt, if we can't you got screwed and we ain't helping if you are sued cause we don't do legal services. So you are lucky if they actually do help. Any consumer is far better just by saving money and settle at a court room if they get sued, it's just stupid to give money to someone that will fix little tings here and there and won't fix the main problem.
