Unpaid Tax Liens ??

My wife is trying to help her friend with Credit Repair.  She has 3 unpaid State Tax Liens from Georgia.

The friend thinks they total about $1600.00 and appear on her Equifax CR.  The liens are from 2005, 2006, 2007.

We both went to the Georgia Tax Revenue web page to look up the amounts of the liens.

There is NOTHING listed at all in her name for these liens !!!  We even looked for names that are close to hers, nothing.

How could this be ?  Could these liens be listed somewhere else besides the Georgia Dept. of Revenue ?

There are thousands of names listed on that sight but not for her.

She has never been married so it can't be listed under her husbands name.

If there is no listing wouldn't Equifax have to delete ?

Thanks

@Corvetteman - Has your talked to The comptroller in Georgia at the state level?  No offense to Georgia but things are a little backwards and behind the times there, so not sure the website would have everything.

If there is no listing, then definitely they would have to remove.  I would write Lexis Nexis (Choicepoint) who mostly has all the legal court records.  She is entitled to a free report once a year.

Check the county recorder where she lived in GA. In some states, tax liens are recorded on the county level.

They would still be listed with the state though if she does have active liens.  They may have gotten them years ago and not renewed them.  If not renewed they can't re-open it now and she may be able to delete them through a dispute.

Excellent suggestion.
