Where do I begin

Below is a list of mine and my husbands negative marks on our credit reports. Our goal is to get out of debt minus our car payment and my student loans in 2014. Where do we begin. Do I start with a debt verification letter even though neither of us have been contacted by any of these places recently? Which debt do I start with (the highest interest rate, the newest, the smallest amount)? Also, my father was the co-signer on my husbands car loan. He just filed bankruptcy. How will this ultimately show up on my husbands credit report? Will it show up as a discharge? If it does is it possible to reinstate the car loan?

I would try to pay the original creditor on these collection to see if you can get them off this way.  Some are very small and you should be able to do it.  The next thing to do is to then dispute with the credit bureaus to see how many of them will fall off.

You could also try Pay for Delete on the bigger amounts with the collection agencies.

@TheBrns - with respect to the car loan, did you father include this loan in his bankruptcy filing?  I am pretty sure but even if he did, it will only absolve your father from the car loan, not your husband.  You husband is still going to be on the hook for the car loan.  I would suggest you ask this question to your father's bankruptcy attorney just to make sure.
