Does filing a Motion to Quash Service extend the time to answer in California?

Recommended Posts

Pretty much all there in the title. I think the answer is yes, but I want to be sure.

The background is here if you're interested: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/community/topic/322480-substituted-servicediligence-timeline-question-in-los-angeles-county/

Substituted service mailed to the wrong address on December 6, 2013, which gives me 40 days to answer. (Jan 15)

The hearing date on the motion to quash would be mid-April.

I have not filed anything yet, but I'd like the extra time if I can get it.
