willingtocope
I just got a call from what was obviously an Indian call center claiming that my computer was causing their servers problems. He said "Will you please turn on your computer?" Since I've got 6 computers running over the internet at all times, I naturally became suspicious...so I hung up. I googled 24x7pchealth...turns out they are a scam. They get unsuspecting people to give them remote access to their computer so they can install malware.

Goldbug
Appreciate the heads-up, willing. The number of scams people come with is amazing! An elderly lady I know had just gotten her first computer online when she got a call from "microsoft" asking for her login info, passwords, etc., and she gave it to them. I was stunned! willingtocope
@Goldbug ... yeah, these folks apparently do claim to be calling from Microsoft sometimes.
Clydesmom
My favorite answer when they called me: how can my computer be causing you problems when I don't own one? They stutter and stammer then hang up.
