Sam Sneed
Good morning all, A couple of years ago I began my credit repair journey with my secure credit card from Credit One from Synovus bank. Since getting that card I have improved my credit greatly, and now have unsecured cards. My question is, would it be a good idea to close the secured card? or should I just leave it open for history purposes?
willingtocope
Close it. FICO knows its secured and it essentially gets ignored when scores are calculated. Take your "security" and put it in a savings account. (And, don't be surprised if it takes a while to get your deposit back).

Sam Sneed
Thanks for the answers, I appreciate it. I will cancel it and move on. I was just concerned that it would ding me because it is the card I have had the longest.
