I found a judgement against me that i was never notified of!

I saw on my credit report that a judgement was filed against me from a company I had never heard of.  What's worse is that I was never notified of the judgement so I wasn't given the opportunity to have my day in court to defend myself!

 

What do I do now? Do i need to get a lawyer and file some kind of motion? I'm so lost!

What is the date of the judgment?

 

The first thing I would do would be to go to the court and look in the file.  It should contain a record of how and when you were allegedly served.

Thanks, I'll try to get to the courthouse.  The date of the judgment is 6/1/2010 'enter date'.  Status date is 12/29/2010, whatever that means.
