Experian Stalling?

Hi All,

Long time reader first time posting.

I have started working on my credit repair over the past few months.

On my last dispute with Experian, I received a stall letter claiming it was a "suspicious request" and that they "will not be initiating any disputes based on suspicious correspondence."

I sent them a copy of my drivers licence and utility bill, and also had my current address and SSN on the dispute form.  Also, this is the second dispute I have had with them and they were able to properly identify me on the first one.  Not sure what the difference is now.  I am wondering what the correct next step would be with them.  I have read through a number of posts on this subject.  Some of them stating that I should respond with a letter telling them that it is me and that they need to complete the dispute.  Other posts mentioned that I should complete the 30 day waiting and then send a letter demanding the deletion.

I never really got a good feeling for which worked best.  Anyone have any experience with responding to this letter and what the best next steps would be.

Thank you for your time.  I really enjoy reading this forum and getting all sorts of good advise from it.

Kevin

Did you send this dispute CMRRR?

I have gotten this response when a lawyer sent a dispute on my behalf.  I believe there are some key words or formats they use to flag a dispute in order to prevent the use of professional "credit cleaning" companies.

I would simply send the dispute again with a simple stamp on the envelope, wait 30 days and see what they say.

Thank you for your responses.

@VADebtor - I have not heard of CFPB before but did search for it on this site and saw there was quite a bit of information on it.  Looks like it may be a good avenue to pursue.  Thanks for the pointer there.

@fisthardcheese - I did send the dispute CMRRR.  It just seems strange that they accepted the previous dispute that I sent.  It had the same identification information as I sent this time.  But this time they seemed to think it was "suspicious".

So if I send in a response to this letter, does it restart the 30 day dispute window with them?  In my response, should I mention the fact that I am looking at filing a complaint with the CFPB? Would that give me any traction with them or would mentioning that not make much of a difference?

Thanks again for any help you can provide.
