Guest Glock17man
I've done some research on this outfit and they are some of the worst, Now before i call a lawyer i was referred to, I am seeking some advice on my options, as this account they are trying to sue me for, i settled with another company several years ago, this account is over 8 years old. Here is a little backstory, (trying to be short with most important info) -Account was originally HSBC bank of Nevada (Midland funding on paperwork also) on a MX bike bought new.-(This is in 2006-07) Paid on account for a while, bike went missing after it was loaned out for a weekend trip.-Talked with someone and said i could not pay for something i did not have, eventually a place in California picked up the account and after harassing me, i ended up sending them money that was supposed to settle it ($5000 iirc) then never heard from them again, NOW.. Fast forward to a few months ago i start getting all these letters from Frederick Hanna with all their mumbo jumbo. I ended up calling the County clerk and she said i should get in touch with them, which i tried many times unsuccessfully, many many calls and emails got nowhere. So they ruled for a garnishment, Now the amount they want has DOUBLED from the original which, i believe was around $8K and i paid that other company $5k to close the account, now what am I to do? This ruling they have is like $12K , I have an attorney friend but he does not do this kind of legal matter, he referred me to someone but would like to get some ideas on what my options are, Thanks everyone
fisthardcheese
When did they get a judgement against you? Were you properly served?
shellieh98
Do you still have any paperwork that shows you paid the other guys? And when was the original suit filed? It could have been when the debt was within the sol.
