creditrepair777
Hi all, Wondering if you have to write down the reason why you're disputing an item when you ask for removal. Just started repairing my credit. I've received 2/3 investigation results. Transunion, however, seems to be stalling. At first, they sent me an email saying that I had to show proof of residency for my new address, which I gladly submitted. Then, they sent me a letter stating that I had to provide a reason for each dispute. After that, they sent me another letter saying my dispute was ineligible (it was very clear) and I needed to state the reason why I was disputing the items. Do you have to provide a reason for each dispute? If I haven't provided a reason, are they still bound by the 30 day rule to handle my request? Any advice or info would be appreciated. Thanks! Disputing is about correcting inaccuracies in reporting or identifying accounts that may be from identity theft. It isn't a magic bullet to credit repair. Do consumers sometimes get lucky that a creditor doesn't respond and a trade line gets deleted? Yes, however that doesn't mean it wasn't valid only that the creditor never followed up. It could still be reinserted. 35 minutes ago, creditrepair777 said: If I haven't provided a reason, are they still bound by the 30 day rule to handle my request? They have responded: they told you they need the reason for the dispute. Your not liking the response doesn't make it a non-response. Give the reason(s) for your disputes and then they have 30 days to respond from that point.
