I have not been served but I know its coming because I recently received solicitations from attorney's telling me I am being sued by Portfolio Recovery.  Kids said someone came to the door yesterday before I got home for work, I am sure to serve the papers.  Any and all advice would be appreciated!!  Let's start with, do I avoid the service?  If served, I want to respond quick in person and on the correct form with a proper response!!  Help is needed, GO!!!

Deliberately dodging service is not a good idea but NOTHING says you have to help them get it done either.   Go about business as usual and when they get back to you it happens.  Could be tomorrow or another month.

The response to Justice Court has to be in their format but it isn't hard and you can file it with the court.  You have 30 days to answer once they serve you so there is no need to rush it.  Start studying Texas threads and be ready for when the service does happen.

I have never, ever been on a forum and this is all new to me.

Not sure who posted this above "I will tell you the facts in a straight forward and direct manner.  If you only want people telling you what you want to hear say so in order that I may move on to help others" but its really rude.  I never suggested I was looking for people to tell me what I want to hear, so hop off my post because I probably wouldn't want your advise.  I can't stand rude people!!
