Case Dismissed With Prejudice - Delete from Credit Report?

In 2015, I fought a JDB in court and the case was dismissed with prejudice. Since then, the alleged account hasn't been reporting to the credit bureaus. However, because of the dismissed w/prejudice, does that give me grounds to dispute to the credit bureaus that this account should be removed from my report? Or do I have to wait 7 years for it to fall off?

The original account was mine that defaulted, and ultimately sold to the JDB.  My credit reports don't mention the JDB. Just shows that the account was closed and purchased by a 3rd party. In other words, the account still shows the original creditor name.

Any advice would be great! I've been focused on repairing my credit and looking for ways to do so.

Try disputing it with the credit bureaus (CRAs) and perhaps the OC won't verify it.  At that point, the CRAs would have to delete it.  However, if the OC verifies it, the dismissal would not cause the OC's entry to be deleted unless the judge ruled you never owed it.

Did the judge provide a reason in his dismissal?

I've submitted online disputes through Credit Karma and such but it just came back as "updated" and not deleted so I was thinking the OC simply verified the account. Maybe I can try it via mail to the bureaus directly?

My dismissal was more so the JDB seeing me as a pain in the butt with all of my motions and told the judge they would like a dismissal with prejudice to which the judge and I agreed.

Always dispute with the CRAs directly, and by certified mail.  Never online.

When they "update", it depends on how they update.  If they do not update to correct the information you are disputing, then they have essentially verified that incorrect information.  When that happens, you then have a right to sue or haul them into arbitration to answer for their misdeeds.
