AceSmith
I rarely use credit, so don't check my scores often. I recently discovered that there is a derogatory mark on my credit report from my previous family doctor. Problem is, he died about five years ago, and I don't know what steps I can/should take to get this off my report. No one took over his practice, and he was not part of a larger medical group; just an old country doctor working alone. How can I get this off my credit? Harry Seaward
Dispute with the CRAs. If no one truly is around to verify the entry, it should fall right off your report in 30-45 days.
