gfs1964
I received notice yesterday from my employer that my wages were being garnished. I received no summons or anything from Stenger and Stenger. How do I respond?
fisthardcheese
You will need to get the court file and see what happened. See how it says they served you the summons and how long ago they got a default judgement. Let us know what you find out and also if you have anything that can prove they never served you (such as proof of not being home if they claim they served you at your home, etc). I am surprised they are filing a garnishment this soon after a judgement. I would get copies of the case file if you can - but especially everything pertaining to service (any affidavit or certificate of service). Let us know what you find.
