Unless it's a medical debt, you can't compel removal. 

Credit reporting is purely a voluntary activity. There is not now, nor has there even been any federal or State law that compels any creditor to report any credit information whatsoever.

You should have thought about that before you settled, and included it as part of the settlement.

For your sake, I hope you got the settlement in writing and that you disputed the debt, because if you didn't they can still come after you.

Oh please. Unless you met someone at midnight in a back alley and handed them a briefcase full of cash, they can't still come after you. Every financial transaction is recorded in 50 different locations simultaneously. There's no way there won't be a record of this transaction.
