Validation Question in Texas

Recommended Posts

I have a $599 delinquent account that is in collections with

  • CCS Collections in Newton, MA.
  • First Date of Delinquency - September 2018
  • Date Assigned - November 2018
  • I live in Texas
  • The Collection Agency has not contacted me in a long time…if ever.

I've seen posts about Texas Finance Code 392 which is the TX state version of FDCPA that says I can demand validation at any time.

What should I do?

  • I want to settle the debt for 50%.  Is it too soon to do this?
  • Do I demand validation first?
  • Do I then contact to settle?

Help

Such is erroneous information that will cause one to look like a fool before the court.   There was a past long-time member here who advocated that at least on a weekly basis.  I read the whole TFC and found that it did not mention debt validation even once,
