Since you did not pay the bill, it is an accurate tradeline. That said, some collectors are willing to do a Pay for Delete and you can offer that to Waypoint and see if they bite. Some do and some don't. There is one person on this board who offered to pay in full for a deletion and the collector refused so they go nothing. If you do decide to pay the debt, regardless of whether the tradeline gets removed or not, there will still be an improvement to your score although it will be damaged in the short term. It used to be that paying on an old account hurt your score but after the JDB companies howled at Fair Issacs about that, Fair Issacs changed the algorithm.
