upset in missouri
I am going through the mortgage process for the first time using an online lender for a fha loan. The realtor says I should go through her "lenders" becuse she never heard of my lender(very well known and comercially advertised) and she would not get paid for anything! I said I was going with my lender and she dosent want to work with me, small town and one realtor office. I really dont undrestand this????? SometimesNotAlways
Sounds like she wants a kickback for the referral. The realtor should get a commission on the sale price - as that is how they get paid.
Bulldoger
The above is correct. I don't think she even has to see the mortgage papers that's the lender and closing attorney to deal with, she just wants a referral fee. Tell her find but any difference in the rate is coming out of her commission.
HueyPilot
Car dealers make the same fuss when you use other financing or cash. They get further upset when you don't purchase the extended warranty programs. Most realtors use the multiple listing program. Just find another realtor and buy the same house and further cut her commission even more. She will get her cut of the referral fee for finding the listing but it will be less than half. RobertDuncan
It seems to me alone that this is a much better solution than contacting mortgage brokers who work with banks in which you make a deal? After all, they are absolutely not neutral and have a predilection for their bank. Therefore, they can be quite unfair, acting in the interests of their employer. Have you ever thought about it? That's why I hired a financial advisor using the Mortgage Advisor York website. Thanks to him, I received the most favorable offer for mortgage lending and am absolutely satisfied.
