HueyPilot
I logged in on the "Score Sense" site in response to their seven day free offer to obtain CRA scores and transaction records for the three major bureaus. This free transaction has been deducting $29.95 per month from my bank account for the past 90 days despite my objections and requests to desist. The bank cancels my account, reissues a new credit/debit card and causes transaction delays with each fraud reporting occurrence. A huge inconvenience! I would welcome suggestions on how I might report this deception to the proper agency's and alert others from falling into a similar trap. Bulldoger
Same thing happen to me in 2007 when I applied for a 3 free credit reports. I called and said I was not going to pay and was going to put in for a charge back as I had not access their service. I I believe the price 14 years ago was $19.99. They refunded my money for months not used and offered me the service for $9.99 a month with a free month to try it out. I used the service for 7 years really help me in clearing up my credit. It was nice to see all three credit report in one page with three columns so I could compare information easily. It was easy to file disputes overall I was very happy with service. But yes It's crappy how they hide that you have signed up for a monthly service.
HueyPilot
Interesting! It's good to hear they actually provide a useful service, however it's not worth $30.00 per month. They scammed me on the 7 day free trial and claimed the credit/debit card would not be used unless I continued the service. That's on me, I should have followed up and discontinued with verification on day 8. Glad to hear they helped you. Best regards, HP
Bulldoger
Service is not worth $30 I am surprise they didn't offer you the discounted service. Even when I had the $9.99 service they would bill me regular price every once in awhile saying offer expired. I would just say refund me and cancel then. They would just continue for $9.99. HueyPilot
Bulldoger, Per your suggestion I contacted Scoresense via phone on their 800 number. The first question the call director asked me was what is my social security number. I declined told them that's my retirement account and they don't pay me money. (How scary is that). I waited on hold a few seconds after being asked if I wanted a call back. (I'm sure that was for phone number confirmation) I talked to a very friendly lady named Robbie. When I told her I wanted to cancel it was familiar business as usual for her. I received both verbal and email confirmation of my cancellation. I asked about my refund for the free 7 day solicitation that caused three months deduction of $90.00 and Robbie claimed that would be reviewed and depending on my use it would be processed. (I used service only once) Though questionable I will wait and see on the refund. I told Robbie she gave excellent customer service and should work for a better company. I'm sure my name, email address and phone number will be sold to some list provider and I'm going to receive tons of unwanted email. Aaah such is life with Hueypilot. You can file a complaint with the office of your State Attorney General. This may just be a waste of time, though. Have you considered filing a credit card dispute if they don't issue a $90 refund to you? You'll likely need to provide copies of emails that show you cancelled the service and/or instructed the company to stop charging your card. HueyPilot
Thank you for your input. I do think I will get my payments/Automatic Deductions back however, I'm in the wait and see mode. The goal for this forum was to alert people who may be trying to get credit scores and data from Equifax that these people (Credit Sense) posture themselves as Equifax on the web page. So buyer beware. You will get one free annual report from Equifax and don't have to pay. Additionally you can get a free report any time you get turned down for credit. There is no need to get trapped like I did because I was in a hurry and then forgot to cancel. Avoid getting spoofed. HP
HueyPilot
Further Warnings! Buyer beware! Just received this refusal for my request for refund. Bulldoger
What a bunch of crap, they got it 100 percent backwards. Call your card file a charge back. If that doesn't work file a police report in office location if they are located in USA.
HueyPilot
For now I'm going to send them a demand letter citing a bunch of State and Federal Rules then call customer service and attempt to get them to make amends. Additionally their location is in Texas. Might be hard to file charges there for small claims as they don't have small claims court according to Texas Rocker. HueyPilot
Sent this for practice: Re: Denial of Refund Dear Managing Director, We have called multiple times requesting cancellation and demanding refund and to date have been ignored. Cybercrime is a criminal activity that has severe consequences against predators and unscrupulous practices. Unfair and Deceptive Practice laws protect consumers on multiple levels, including state and federal. Internet spoofing is any unlawful, unfair or fraudulent business act or practice and accordingly, unfair, deceptive, untrue or misleading advertising and the use of any so prohibited acts is a way to manipulate consumer markets for illegitimate profit, making it an effective criminal enterprise. Your intentional deceit alleging a spoof to be Equifax and offering a seven day free utilization trial, providing access to Equifax FICO scores, was nothing more than an manipulative deception to fraudulently deduct $29.95 each month for 90 days directly from my bank account. The unauthorized deductions, in itself an illegal business practice on the internet, becomes business fraud or a fraudulent device and/or a contrivance for dishonest and illegal activity perpetrated on an individual by not refunding the three month deductions for monies when demanded. Moreover your attention is directed to repairing this injury. In looking at a few remedies I have found these agencies and regulations could be helpful: FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center FTC Federal Trade Commission reportfraud.ftc.gov NACDL - Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) (a)(3) extortion involving computers Computer Trespass Act of 1984 18 U.S.C. §1344(1) and (2), § 1344. Bank fraud. 18 U.S.C § 1341. Frauds and swindles. 15 U.S.C. §§ 41-58, as amended ORS 86A.115(2) UTPA Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act. See O.R.S. 646.605-646.656.Internet Fraud and Lottery/Sweepstakes Fraud by Internet Contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) online at www.ic3.gov. My favorites are these: Bank Fraud Offenders are charged with bank fraud under 18 U.S.C. §1344(1) and (2) § 1344. Bank fraud. Whoever knowingly executes, or attempts to execute, a scheme or artifice-- (1) to defraud a financial institution; or (2) to obtain any of the moneys, funds, credits, assets, securities or other property owned by, or under the custody or control of, a financial institution, by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises; shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both. [Codified to 18 U.S.C. 1344] The other winner is: § 1341. Frauds and swindles. Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, or to sell, dispose of, loan, exchange, alter, give away, distribute, supply, or furnish or procure for unlawful use any counterfeit or spurious coin, obligation, security, or other article, or anything represented to be or intimated or held out to be such counterfeit or spurious article, for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice or attempting so to do, places in any post office or authorized depository for mail matter, any matter or thing whatever to be sent or delivered by the Postal Service, or deposits or causes to be deposited any matter or thing whatever to be sent or delivered by any private or commercial interstate carrier, or takes or receives therefrom, any such matter or thing, or knowingly causes to be delivered by mail or such carrier according to the direction thereon, or at the place at which it is directed to be delivered by the person to whom it is addressed, any such matter or thing, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both. If the violation occurs in relation to, or involving any benefit authorized, transported, transmitted, transferred, disbursed, or paid in connection with, a presidentially declared major disaster or emergency (as those terms are defined in section 102 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5122)), or affects a financial institution, such person shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both. [Codified to 18 U.S.C. 1341] I will file a police report to get started as a matter of dispute record. I will innitiate action with the various agencies if the funds in the amount of $89.85 are not returned to my account buy direct deposit and I received confirmation by Thursday September 9th 2021. It will cost your legal department a lot more than $90.00 . Best regards, HP

I think the mention of Enterprise in my correspondence may have been a key word to hit on some potential violations for RICO investigations. Yes they have specific instructions for cancellations. I was late and under the impression I had communicated with the actual Equifax for the one time report. Terms and conditions are somewhat elaborate. The main concern is their requirement to provide SSAC. Additionally when you call customer service your SSAC is the first thing they ask for. I didn't provide my SSAC but did provide my actual DOB which I understand along with your full name pretty much allows for search of any record in your background. HueyPilot
I guess my police report and notice letter to the director must have had some effect. I just received this approved refund notice. I will have to wait the five days and see if Scoresense actually transfers funds back to my bank. Bulldoger
"I guess my police report and notice letter to the director must have had some effect." Once a long time ago back when cellphones were analog I had a collection appear on my credit card from ATT. I called ATT number on my credit report. I told them I owe nothing I had settled account with partial lump for payment in full. They said that was just a payment I still owed the rest. There was no google at the time but with WebCrawler and AOL I manage to get the CEO of ATT direct phone number. I called and the secretary answered phone. I didn't get to talk to CEO but I gave the secretary the story and I had a record of my payment but nothing in writing that it was for payment in full. I said that was what I and person on phone taking my checking account information agreed. I said why would I pay such a large payment if it wasn't for full payment. I faxed my payment information (bank statement and my credit reports showing the account being remove after the payment. I don't know if it would have been corrected faster if I had actually reach the CEO himself. I got call next day apologizing from regional manager and that account had been marked paid and request to remove from credit report issued. The motto of the story get it in writing and file it, and it pays to go to the top or higher ups. BTW shortly thereafter the phone number was removed from the site I found. HueyPilot
I suspect that if you hadn't disputed in writing your ATT account it potentially could have ended up in collections. I once received a collections call on a phone line that I previously utilized for a business I sold twelve years prior. The same line had been used by a data company who went out of business and didn't pay. A few letters in writing and it all went away. I didn't get to the top management, but I mentioned filing a dispute with the FCC and it was done. No apology letter however. The real morale of these stories is taking action and disputing in writing. I see this constantly stressed on this CIC forum and I hope more people take heed. The 95% of people who don't are just lost. We try to help but eventuality of the astounding increase in homeless camps and tent cities everywhere is just proof of the lack of concern.
